"Milltown Militia" is a history of the men who volunteered from or were credited to the town of North Stonington, Connecticut during the Civil War. There were those who enthusiastically volunteered and those who had to be 'persuaded" by the draft. Some died in battle, some in hospitals. Some came home maimed. Others survived the fury and returned to their families and businesses and to tell tales around the fire in the village store.
